Description
Die Werke entstanden vermutlich in den ersten Monaten des Jahres 1772. Sie trugen zunächst die KV-Nummern 125 a-c und wurden als Divertimenti geführt. Es handelt sich jedoch um Orchesterquartette oder Sinfonien ohne Bläser, wie sie beispielsweise aus Mannheim bekannt sind. Ob Mozart chorische oder solistische Besetzung gemeint hat, ist umstritten; für die chorische Besetzung spricht die Bezeichnung der Instrumente "... Viole / Basso".
