Über Lavinia Greenlaw

Lavinia Greenlaw is a writer who grew up in a family of doctors and scientists. Her collections include Minsk, The Casual Perfect and A Double Sorrow: Troilus and Criseyde (Spring 2014). Her first novel, Mary George of Allnorthover, won France’s Prix du Premier Roman Etranger. Her second, An Irresponsible Age, was followed by two books of non-fiction: The Importance of Music to Girls and Questions of Travel: William Morris in Iceland. She was the first artist-in-residence at the Science Museum and in 2013 was awarded a Wellcome Engagement Fellowship. Her work with composers includes the chamber opera Hamelin (Ian Wilson) and the song cycle Slow Passage, Low Prospect (Richard Baker). Her awards include a NESTA fellowship and the 2011 Ted Hughes Award for her sound work Audio Obscura.
