Amores

Three songs to poems by D.H. Lawrence for mezzo-soprano and orchestra. This work is one of Kortekangas's most important contributions for solo voice. It is a cycle in three movements, but played without a break. Sparer outer movements, shot through with gentle crescendi and diminuendi delivered in peaceful waves frame a faster and more dramatic central section.
