Zack bumm!

Zack bumm! is a musical theater piece for children aged five and up that tells the story of Sigmund, a little bird who after falling out of his nest can only utter a hoarse “Zack bumm”. Lost in his otherness, he discovers his own strengths with the help of Carl Gustav, an old hare. What makes this piece unique is its narrative style as there is no text. With a cast of oboe, clarinet, bassoon and marimba, the music, in combination with puppetry, takes on the narrative function and simultaneously explores the emotional depths of the little bird. Through the precise interplay of acting and music, Zack bumm! gives all children, regardless of their linguistic or cultural backgrounds, inclusive access to the story. Elisabeth Naske
