Two Short Anthems

Amy Marcy Beach was the first American woman to succeed as a composer. Her uniue upbringing in New England included a notable circle which included composer  William Mason and writer Oliver Wendell Holmes. In 1926, she co-founded and was first president of the Association of American Women Composers.
