Towards Resolution

The inspiration for Kidane's Towards Resolution was the opening of Henry Purcell's first three-part Fantazia.  Responding to Purcell's descending motif, Kidane creates a feeling of timelessness which gradually building towards a resolution that clarifies all that came before. As the piece slowly progresses and morphs through different harmonies, the introduction of tremolos and ever-rising glissandi reinforce a sense of agitation and turbulence which eventually reaches a plateau from which the resolution seamlessly surfaces.
