Theoretically inconceivable, this arrangement turns out to be riveting and colourful in performance and will amaze those who think they are already well-acquainted with Beethoven’s masterpiece. This version requires a first class woodwind and brass ensemble. As an alternative to performance in the concert hall, this arrangement would be well suited to an open air event in which the ethereal sound of the original string section may have been acoustically compromised.
