Description
Suite No. 1 ist eine Hymne an die Göttlichkeit des Tanzes. Das Stück lotet sämtliche Möglichkeiten extremer Rhythmik, Harmonik und Orchestration aus, um das Klavier als Soloinstrument mit all seinen Möglichkeiten in den Vordergrund zu stellen: vom Schlaginstrument bis hin zu lyrischer Schlichtheit. Am Ende zitiert der Komponist den Stil seiner Partituren zu den antiken Tragödien in einem Epilog mit markanten Bläsersignalen.
