Description

During a study journey to Dubai in 2009, Jörg Widmann produced the Dubairische Tänze, a collection of pieces which ingeniously and wittily capture and reflect on different types of Bavarian folk music seen against the background of his middle Eastern travels. For Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra he wrote a special Souvenir bavarois: a concert opening fanfare to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Paavo Järvi as the orchestra’s chief conductor.
