Description
This Sonata was influenced by Heinz von Cramer, the librettist of Henze‘s
opera ,König Hirsch‘. The two-movement piece is one of the least suggestive from the 1950s and its classicism is clear and distinct. The energetic first movement has a Stravinskian feel, while the second is a set of 32 variations based on the long violin melody at the start.
