Description
Pendant presque trois ans, Partch a composé de courtes pièces tirées de Seventeen Poems de Li Po. Chacune d’entre elles est une mise en musique d’un poème du poète chinois Li Bai (Li Po, 701-762), d’après la traduction de Shigeyoshi Obata de 1922. Partch a écrit ce recueil de chansons pour voix et sa nouvelle Adapted Viola. Dans sa partition, Partch avait originellement partagé les chansons en Eleven Poems by Li Po et Six Poems by Li Po.
