Description
This suite, in three movements, draws inspiration from techniques used on the gadulka, a traditional Bulgarian bowed instrument. The folk character of the work aims to portray the dramatic landscape of the Pirin mountain.
PIRIN is the first of three suites written for Maxim Rysanov, the other two being Suite in Old Style for viola, harpsichord and strings and Suite in Jazz Style for viola and piano.
