Description

Toshi Ichiyanagi’s fourth piano concerto is inspired by the overwhelming performance of one of the most active and aggressive Japanese free jazz pianists, Yosuke Yamashita. The concerto comprises masterful passages and sections of free improvisation. The duel between the composer, who has command of the rich acoustics of the orchestra and the pianist, creator of his own violent and intense sound world, can be seen in the concert performance!
