À propos de Salvatore Martirano
A pupil of Dallapiccola and later a fellow of the American Academy in Rome, Martirano began as a 12-note composer in the 1950's, but soon turned to the influence of popular culture in an experimental synthesis of high and low art. Underworld of 1959 introduced computer-generated sound into his work. He was associated with the radical movement of the 1960's and subsequently experimented with the construction of the 'marvil', an instrument which enables the composer to create sounds with the aid of a digital computer and to perform them simultaneously.Produits
