Description

Gidon Kremer, the dedicatee of this concerto and soloist at its premiere performance in Brussels in 2012, describes the work thus: ‘Victor Kissine is a composer who never writes a single superfluous note. Nevertheless, his compositions contain everything that is relevant to the spirit of his tonal world.’ The work was developed around a central concept and structured like a novel in three parts in which the introductory quasi-recitative is the nucleus of the entire concerto.
