Here's a relaxed funk/rock original for developing groups that is guaranteed to be a hit at your next concert or festival appearance. It has two distinct sections and grooves, with a contrapuntal shout section that builds in intensity as it leads to a written or ad lib solo for trumpet. Since the entire harmonic background is built on the F7(#9) chord, your soloist can experiment with moving in and out of the tonality to create a sense of tension and release.
