Description

Exiles is a meditation on leaving home and of longing for one’s homeland, using texts from different traditions and languages. The theme of exile is a deep source of inspiration for Anderson, whose Jewish extended family were killed during the Holocaust. ‘The only family to survive were those who managed to leave much earlier, like my grandparents’, Anderson writes. The work is nevertheless a celebration of ‘the vibrancy that humans gain from sharing our creativity, and the richness that arises when people move to different countries’.
