Description
The score and orchestral material of Werner Egk's music for Der Herr vom andern Stern (1948, directed by Heinz Hilpert) with Heinz Rühmann are lost. The Bavarian Radio commissioned the Munich-based Greek composer Minas Borboudakis in the run-up to the Werner Egk Year 2001 to reconstruct Egk's film music with the help of the, fortunately, extant film copies and arrange it as a suite for orchestra.
