Over the years, I have periodically composed a number of (unpublished) lieder, but have only now created my first ‘official’ lieder cycle for Christian Gerhaher and his accompanist Gerold Huber. Unfamiliar poetry from the collection Des Knaben Wunderhorn [The Boy’s Magic Horn] together with poems by Klabund, Brentano and Härtling form an essential element of this work – radically simple and genuine texts, profoundly touching the heart.
