Description
Commissioned in 2024 by Ensemble Altera for the choir’s critically acclaimed album ‘Feminine Voices at Christmas’, Kerensa Briggs’s setting of the Coventry Carol (‘Lully, lulla, thou little tiny child’) is written for upper voices (dividing into four parts), with an additional soprano solo and harp (or piano) accompaniment. A deeply reflective, reverent and fresh setting of this well-known text, with gentle dissonance and beautiful shape, this carol is suitable for intermediate to advanced upper-voice choirs looking to add a moment of calm wonder in their Christmas concert or service.
