Canon for Two Violas

This five-minute duo was commissioned and first performed by Scott Dickinson and Andrew Berridge, for more than twenty years the first desk viola players of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. This is the latest in their Viola Duo Project, fulfilling a deep desire to develop creative relations for this expressive sound world with a wide range of composers. MacMillan's Canon will be seized upon by violists eager to take on new repertoire for their instrument.
