Arcade

Arcade is drone music. It presents a scene within a consumerist society as one of the states of sound. In this scene, it appears that people’s speculative spirits and desires are under control. At the same time these spirits and desires conflict and overlap with one other. I depict the scene from the point of view of a quality of sound that a person feels on the skin. The quality of sound fluctuates according to subtle changes of the listener’s body, or according to the particular place or space, and so on. In this piece, I stop and turn my attention to the various layers of sound and focus on their essence and qualities. Akiko Yamane
