Description
Le nouvel opéra de Gerald Barry est fondé sur deux chefs-d’œuvre de Lewis Carroll : Alice au Pays des Merveilles et De l’autre côté du miroir. Comme pour L’Importance d’être Constant, son dernier opéra qui a remporté un grand succès, le compositeur a fait le livret lui-même, d’après le texte original. En 70 minutes, Barry a réussi à rester fidèle à l’histoire d’Alice sous de nombreux aspects. Son excitation caractéristique et son humour facétieux poussent l’intrigue dans les profondeurs absurdes du pays des merveilles.
