Version pour orchestre à cordes

Christian Jost originally wrote "Adagio12" for the twelve cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. For the South American tour of the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble he made an adaptation of the work for string orchestra which is far more than a mere arrangement. The totally different way of playing, articulation and phrasing required by contemporary music challenge these musicians, specialized in baroque music, to approach the music from a different angle - in the spirit of watchword of the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble: 'Find modernity in the baroque era and baroque spirit in modern compositions!'
