Vers, l’arc–en–ciel, Palma was composed in 'hommage' to the Spanish painter, Joan Miró. I met Miró in Osaka in 1970, when he happened to visit Japan for Expo ‘70. And my heart was completely captured by this artist – so unsophisticated and unaffected, almost suggestive of the Catalonian climate. Toru Takemitsu
