Description
It was not so much "rage over a lost penny" as rage over an intractable mathematical problem that prompted the young pianist, composer and mathematician Mark Pogolski to write his Toccata. Therefore parts marked "with brusco", should be played aggressively. Mark Pogolski was born 1877 in St. Petersburg (Russia), he studied mathematics, composition and piano in Russia and Germany, where he was able to win lots of prices as a pianist and a composer. It is a piece that is eminently suitable as a dashing encore for advanced players.
