A pastiche - the colourful world of opera in a crazy collage: Bizet's 'Carmen' and Weber's 'Euryanthe' are nested together in four bars, Verdi's 'Triumphal March' mutates into 'Through the Woods' from 'Freischütz', the three-four time from 'Tannhäuser' is bent into a march and the four-four time from 'La Traviata' into a waltz, followed by Rossini's 'La gazza ladra', 'Guillaume Tell', Puccini's 'Tosca' and Mozart's 'Nozze di Figaro'.
