Suite für Viola und Klavier

The suite by the composer Norbert von Hannenheim is characterised by the dance-like air of all four movements. It focuses the genuine power of the viola in its lowest register to produce a finely nuanced music in succinct brevity. Committed to the serial technique of his teacher Arnold Schoenberg, Hannenheim draws his compositional strength from a highly personal emotionality in this suite as well.
