Description

Jaroslav Opela, conductor of the Wilde Gungl symphony orchestra from Munich, asked me in the summer of 2013 whether I could write a piece for them. I accepted at once. Immediately during our first talk I had the idea to write a composition about the sculptures of Antje Tesche- Mentzen, whom I have known since 1994 and admire very much. In the following months, I created a musical portrait of the artist. As she had studied not only fine arts but ballet and singing as well, I included a soprano, a choir and a solo violin, and I wrote the individual movements in a dance-like style. Wilfried Hiller
