About Ludus Gravis

Ludus Gravis is a double-bass ensemble devoted to the performance of contemporary music. The group grew out of the collaboration between Stefano Scodanibbio and Daniele Roccato and his students, and made its debut at the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid. Thanks to its remarkable originality, Ludus Gravis represents a real novelty in the international concert scene. Its repertoire consists of pieces by John Cage, Arvo Pärt, Terry Riley, Hans Werner Henze, Stefano Scodanibbio, and Galina Ustvolskaya. Daniele Roccato (leader), Stefano Battaglia, Maurizio Bucci, Paolo Di Gironimo, Simone Masina, Giacomo Piermatti, Francesco Platoni, and Alessandro Schillaci are members of Ludus Gravis.
