Description

Little Piece of Gossip was commissioned by Geoffrey Morris and was created in close communication between composer and guitarist. It explores instrument-specific questions such as: "How do percussive sounds work on the fretboard; what would happen if we sometimes adopted a rock-style approach; how are the sharp strokes on the lower string; what are the lyrical qualities of the guitar?" The musical idea behind the resulting piece of about five minutes: manic rhythmic toing and froing, prepared by harmonies flashing here and there, turns into a very simple lullaby.
