Five Bagatelles

Kokkonen's suite for piano has become a modern classic. It offers catchy moments without being technicall too difficult and it is ideally suited for students looking for modern repertoire. The closing section, Arbores, is constructed something like a passacaglia; with its octaves and pillars of sound it constitutes Kokkonen's most imposing piano music.
