Description
Egil’s Saga is one of the great classics of Icelandic literature, set in the 10th century, Bryars portrays the fierce old Viking warrior as he nears death, contemplating incidents from his bloodthirsty life and trying to find a resolution. Featuring a bass baritone as Egil, with a chorus and low accompanying instruments, Bryars conjures up a powerful brooding atmosphere in which the sea is ever present.
