Arise, shine
Product Details
Description
A setting of the opening verses of Isaiah, chapter 60: ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you’ by organist and choral director, Anna Lapwood. Lapwood’s setting captures the essence of the text, initially with rising phrases, glistening climaxes and rich harmonies, but later with a steadily growing simple chant-like repeated phrase, emphasising the mystery of the text, before a final soft repetition. For SATB choir, with frequent divisi in the first half of the piece, and a simple organ accompaniment.
