About Catrien Stremme
"When I am older, I want to play that too!" That is what Catrien said when she was three years old, stood in front of a wedding band, and was extremely charmed by the beautiful noise of the drums. At age 11, she received her first drum lesson at High School; her first step towards making a big dream come true. Her road of musical education led her to the L.A. Music Academy (1999/2000) and to Havana, Cuba (2000/2001). Catrien's first gig as a pro musician was an European tour with the musical "Cabaret", which a few years later led to another musical tour: Swinging "St. Pauli".In the end of 2002 Catrien chose Berlin as her new home base. That is where she still finds herself today, making a living by playing and teaching the drums, as well as compiling Jazz CDs for Sony Music Ent. GER ever and anon. As a byproduct of Catrien's endeavor to become a better educator, she firstly wrote a drum method book, which is to be published this fall by SCHOTT music. Secondly Catrien has been asked to write a series of workshops in Germany's 1 drum mag DRUMHEADS!! (starting with issue 3/2010).
