Description
The common theme here is the tango. Astor Piazzolla needs no commentary; Oskar Strock was the ’King of Tango’ in 1930’s Riga. At the grave of Oskars Stroks in 1975 there played a school friend of the composer, a young and unknown violinist Gidon Kremer. This piece was first performed in 2001 by Gidon Kremer and his now world famous orchestra ’Kremerata Baltica’.
