About Steve Waterman
Steve Waterman studied at Trinity College of Music, London, during which time he played with the European Community Youth Jazz Orchestra and the National Youth Jazzz Orchestra with whom he featured on the album 'With an Open Mind'.Since then, Steve has worked regulary on the British and European jazz scene with Mike Garrick, Stan Tracey, John surman, Graham Collier, Mike Gibbs, John Dankworth, Andy Sheppard and Carla Bley. His festival appearences have included Montreux, Montreal, North Sea and Pori.
Steve has his own quartet featuring many of his own original compositions. Five of these were featured on BBC Radio 2's 'Jazz Parade'. As well as being busy with session work, West End shows, and TV jingles, he also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and on Wavendon Jazz courses. He is the principal trumpet player in 'Miss Saigon', Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. He has made recordings with Alison Moyet and George Michael.
