Description
Pietro Guiseppe Gaetano Boni came to Rome in 1711, where he made the acquaintance of Corelli. Corelli had a strong influence on Bonis's instrumental works. The four sonatas are a selection from his op. 2, which was published in Rome in 1720. A microfilm of the copy in the Civico Museo Bibliografico Musicale in Bologna served as the source. The string parts contain fingerings, bowings and ligatures that differ from the score.
