Val's versatile career encompasses roles as workshops leader, choral director, singing teacher, voice consultant, author and singer.
As a vocal animateur Val is renowned for her infectious enthusiasm, energy and ability to motivate people about singing. She is experienced with all ages and abilities from nursery-level through to post graduate students. She is in demand nationally to direct large-scale performances and choral events all over the UK, and is now developing her work in Hong Kong having recently co-led a choral course for young people in Kowloon.
In addition to recently succeeding Christopher Bell as director of the Belfast Philharmonic Phil Kids children's and youth choirs, Val also conducts the Solihull Children's Chorus, and often acts as guest conductor to other choirs. She is a highly sought-after vocal trainer to national music organisations, music services and universities and frequently acts as consultant to various national vocal initiatives.
