Description

Aural Matters in Practice provides a set of aural training exercises based on the tracks of its companion CD, "The Essential Hyperion", for use in the preparation of students for advanced music examinations. It is designed to supplement the materials in Part II of "Aural Matters" (Schott ED 12430) by same authors.
The seminal "Aural Matters" is primarily a resource to help students improve their own aural perception and stylistic awarness of music. Aural Matters in Practice has been written at the request of many teachers seeking additional materials to use in classes or study groups, both to monitor progress and to provide further practice in working formal tests. The books has accordingly been designed with space for students' responses and with model answers (plus suggested marks and a scheme of work) printed on the centre folios for easy removal if desired. The 28 tests are complementary to those in "Aural Matters"; some encompass related musical material while others provide the opportunity to investigate styles and genres that were only touched upon in the original volume.
