Description

It is a small sensation that "Two Pieces", so far an unknown organ composition by Hindemith, can be published for the first time now. It consists of a prelude with fast and soft arpeggios, followed by a more peaceful movement with alternating homophonic and polyphonic chordal passages leading into a grandiose ending. Although the organ is one of the few instruments that Hindemith never played, his three sonatas and the two organ concertos are important repertoire pieces.
