Description
This arrangement for violin and guitar instead of violin and piano by Peter E. Segal suits the character of the folkloric miniatures very well. It is precisely the guitar which can give excellent expression to the typical Spanish colour, with the Rasgueado technique in the last movement being a wonderful example. Apart from the typical figures of accompaniment, the guitar also takes part in the musical action as regards the theme, thus leading to music-making in dialogue form in which each instrument has its equal share.
