Description
After several attempts, Heinz Holliger finally managed to successfully set to music David Rokeah's poems which are dedicated to him. Shir Shavur is like a choir book with twelve very different movements. All 36 parts combine in several manners with divisions into solo and tutti groups. Simultaneously, Hebrew and German words are sung on different harmonic and structural layers - this strongly evokes the impression of a multi-layered soundscape.
