With Fabio di Càsola, Nicola Miorada, and Stephan Siegenthaler, Dirk Altmann cofounded an ensemble that performs the clarinet literature of more than two centuries: from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s compositions for several instruments in the clarinet family to the works of living composers, which forms one of the ensemble’s focuses. Pieces by Heinz Holliger, Hans Ulrich Lehmann, and Vinko Globokar are thus part of the core repertoire of newears 4 clarinets.
