Profile

Cristina Zavalloni, born 1973 in Bologna; studied composition and voice there. Founded the Open Quartet and began studying opera singing in 1994. Collaborations with George Russell, Yves Robert, Michel Godard, Uri Caine and Han Bennink. Has worked closely with Louis Andriessen and the violinist Monica Germino. Performances with groups including Orkest de Volharding, Schönberg Ensemble, Icebreaker, London Sinfonietta, BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
