Christian Eggen, born 1957 in Drøbak, Norway. Studied in Oslo, Salzburg, Vienna, Paris and New York. Has worked as a conductor since the early 1980s, including as director of the Ny Musikk Ensemble; also active as a concert and jazz pianist. Artistic director of the Oslo Sinfonietta and the Cikada Ensemble. Active as a composer in addition to conducting. Numerous honors, including Norway’s Spellemannprisen and Lindemanprisen as well as the Oslo City Artist Award.
