Cosmic Voices of Bulgaria are twenty-one women representing all regions and musical range of the country that has produced the female choir sound which captivated since the early 80ies. Under the direction of Vanya Moneva and including some of the best soloists and young artists in the country today, this ravishing choir performs music from various regions as well as an entire repertoire of new works in the old tradition. Bulgarian choir singing in the folk tradition draws on a centuries-old practice of rich sonorities, complicated harmonies and driving rhythms found only in this part of the world. All of this has been updated by a group of gifted creators and by the magnificient choral singing of these women.
