Profile

An expert on the music of Liszt, Searle was the first British composer to base a mature oeuvre in the serial method.  Powerfully Romantic, his music speaks at its clearest in a fine Piano Sonata and in the triptych of choral works: Gold Coast Customs, The Riverrun and The Shadow of Cain.
