Description
With this adaptation of ‚The Magic Flute‘, Eberhard Streul introduces little concert-goers to the opera in a child-oriented way, filling them with enthusiasm for this genre. The concise plot is presented by Papageno who invites the young audience again and again to join in the play: Lavish sets and costumes are unnecessary for it is the children who play the serpent,
fire, water and wild beasts. The singers are solely accompanied by flute and piano which replace the large orchestra. 'Papageno spielt auf der Zauberflöte' has been successful both in the small confines of a studio theatre and at major theatres.
Both versions require professional singers.
