Description
This effective work was commissioned as the compulsory piece for this year's ARD Competition. It is inspired by the famous musical setting of the passage from the Bible, shown in the title, in the German Requiem by Johannes Brahms. In addition, the composer has woven in a brilliant arrangement of the Protestant chorale 'Es ist gewisslich an der Zeit' (The Day is Surely Drawing Near) the second verse of which also refers to the 1st Letter to the Corinthians, 15:51-55.
